The 61 Infantry Division Sirte was a Infantry Division of the Italian Army during World War II. The Sirte Division was sent to Libya in October 1939 . In September 1940, it was part of the Italian XXII Corps that took part in the Italian invasion of Egypt and was destroyed at Tobruk during the British counter attack in January 1941.[1]
